Synopsis:
This book was inspired by Bormann's studies on Abraham Lincoln's rhetorical vision after the trial of the Civil War which emphasized the importance of unifying a nation in time of troubles. Bormann's studies provide a conceptual understanding of how to apply the fantasy theme analysis method in examining Tunku, Tan and Sambathan's tasks of unifying a racially divided ssociety of Malaya in critical historical circumstances. This book employs the following procedures for conducting fantasy theme analysis, the identification of fantasy themes; the examination of the dramatis personae and plans of action in the fantasy themes; the reconstruction of the resultant rhetorical visions; and the overall assessment of the rhetorical visions.
